Alfredsson has been running Volvo HPDI-equipped trucks since 2018 and will continue to add more to its fleet as an important part of its sustainability initiatives. Founded in the 1960s in Yorkshire, Asda is one of Britain’s leading retailers with an expansive network of supermarkets and petrol filling stations across the UK. With the largest alternative-fuel fleet in the UK consisting of all Volvo HPDI-equipped tractors, the supermarket has ambitions to transition its core fleet of just over 980 tractor units from diesel to gas by the end of 2024.

LINDE CANADA, INC. Linde, an industrial gas and engineering company, offers technologies and services aimed at carbon abatement, early adoption and an accelerated transition to cleaner sources of energy. In 2023, Linde Canada undertook an exclusive pilot with Volvo Trucks North America importing five Volvo FH LNG (liquified natural gas) powered trucks to Canada, all of which are equipped with the Westport HPDI fuel system. Linde Canada’s intent is to capture the performance, CO2 emission reductions, and other operational benefits of the LNG-powered tractors alongside its dieselpowered trucks in its long-haul operations.
