Founded in the 1960s in Yorkshire, Asda is one of Britain’s leading retailers with an expansive network of supermarkets and petrol filling stations across the UK. With the largest alternative fuel fleet in the UK consisting of all Volvo HPDI-equipped tractors, the supermarket has ambitions to transition its core fleet of just over 980 tractor units from diesel to gas by the end of 2024.

A Spanish family-owned transport and logistics company, Disfrimur performs refrigerated goods transportation services and is committed to efficient and sustainable transport. In October 2023, Disfirmur carried out a Volvo H2 HPDI-equipped tractor demonstration via a distribution service for Mercadona Supermarket in Madrid, Spain.

KAJ INRIKES, SMÅLANDSLOGISTIK (Hauling for IKEA)
In December 2023, a successful heavy transport demonstration was completed by key IKEA fleet partners, KAJ Inrikes and Smålandslogistik. The demonstration included a Volvo H2 HPDI-equipped truck hauling a trailer filled with IKEA home-furnishing products in Älmhult, Sweden. KAJ Inrikes is a “green-focused” haulage company, performing transport for IKEA and other key customers in the Älmhult and Jönköping area. Smålandslogistik, a long haulage and distribution company, has identified the environment and decarbonization as important areas where they can contribute meaningful impact through their daily business.

LINDE CANADA, INC.
Linde, an industrial gas and engineering company, offers technologies and services aimed at carbon abatement, early adoption and an accelerated transition to cleaner sources of energy. In 2023, Linde Canada undertook an exclusive pilot with Volvo Trucks North America importing five Volvo FH LNG (liquified natural gas) powered trucks to Canada, all of which are equipped with the HPDI Technologies’ HPDI fuel system. Linde Canada’s intent is to capture the performance, CO2 emission reductions, and other operational benefits of the LNG-powered tractors alongside its diesel-powered trucks in its long-haul operations.
